Peace that holds.
Connection that's real.
Calm that lasts, return to joy after the big emotions that overwhelm you, connection deeper than "I'm fine." A JoyPath Group is where those are built: a year-long, in-person circle of 5 to 7 near Waukesha, practicing gentle, proven skills each week, Scripture and brain science woven together.

In Joanna's Words
Abundant life is closer than you think
Joanna’s own story: all the right answers, a life that still felt defeating, and the discovery nobody had handed her yet in all her years of faith. The first to notice were the people she used to snap at.

Sound Familiar?
You love God. So why doesn't your heart feel at peace?
You go to church. You read. You pray. And still:
- the going cold with someone you love
- the struggle to show up well with difficult people
- the conversation replayed at 2 AM
- the anxiety humming under a full calendar
- the loneliness that finds you even in a room full of believers
You've tried harder. Maybe you've wondered if you finally need to "deal with your past," or if this is just how it's going to be.
Here's the gentle surprise from Scripture and two decades of brain science: lasting peace isn't found by digging through everything that's wrong.
It's built, the way strength is built.
Your capacity for glad-to-be-together connection determines how much of life's pain you can face without being overwhelmed. Most of us stay stuck because we're processing hard things on an empty tank. Build the capacity first, and the peace, freedom, and deep connection you've been praying for stop being things you chase… and become things you have.
That's what a JoyPath Group builds: a circle of 5 to 7, guided by a certified leader, meeting weekly for 39 sessions through the year. Scripture, brain science, and gentle practice are woven together, drawing on a curriculum trusted by ministries worldwide (Life Model Works, THRIVEtoday, Deeper Walk, Center for Transformation, and Alive & Well), with the Immanuel Approach (Dr. Karl Lehman) embedded throughout.
And you'll never be asked to:
- retell your trauma to strangers
- share anything before you're ready
- perform, or have it all together
We build gently, at your pace. This is an experience, not another study, and never a place where pain is put on display.
Learn quieting: calming your body and mind when anxiety spikes, in minutes instead of days.
Recover after conflict, fear, or shame without getting stuck, and stay yourself in hard moments.
Belong with "a people": safe, genuine friendships that go deeper than "How are you? Fine!"
Move from knowing about His love to actually experiencing His peace in everyday moments.
The Surprising Key
Joy. And joy is a skill you can grow.
One Path · Deeper Every Year
JoyPath isn't a program you finish. It's a path you walk.
For those who journey on, each year builds on the last: the same tender circle rhythm, taken deeper. Year One builds you. Year Two frees you. The Gentle Protector Journey makes it your way of life. Deeper growth, deeper healing, deeper empowerment, every single year.
Grow the joy capacity, quieting, and relational skills that everything else stands on, and find real belonging with "a people." This is where every JoyPath journey begins.
For Year One graduates. The safety and capacity you built become the doorway to deeper healing, going further into identity, maturity, and freedom in the places Year One made it possible to reach. What you practiced becomes who you are.

Your Guide
Walk the path with Joanna
Here is the embarrassing part of my story. I loved God. I could lead a Bible study in my sleep. I was working through a master’s degree in mental health counseling. And I would still go home and snap at the people I loved most, lie awake replaying a conversation from lunch, and sit in church surrounded by believers, feeling completely alone. I had all the right parts and all the logical answers, and my life still felt defeating instead of abundant.
So I prayed, honestly, because I was out of ideas. Those prayers led me to a set of skills nobody had taught me in all my years of faith: the Gentle Protector skills. I was skeptical, and then I was amazed. My marriage changed, not because my husband changed, but because I began showing up differently. For the first time, the life Jesus talked about showed up in my kitchen, on regular days. So I got certified as an Alive & Well Journey Group Leader, trained in the Life Model and the Immanuel Approach, became a Certified Relationship Coach, and built JoyPath to bring this work home to our own community. Joy, quieting, and returning to peace are learnable skills, and they are learned best together, with someone who has traveled the path before you.
"With honor, I'll join you in this extraordinary journey. I have been praying for the people God gathers into these circles, and I wonder if one of them might be you."
Good Questions
Everything you're wondering
One honest note first: if you want another study to sit through, a circle will frustrate you. If you want to become someone, and you are willing to be known by a few people while it happens, you will fit right in.
Will I have to share my trauma or my whole story?
Do I need to be a coaching client to join?
Is this a Bible study? Is it therapy?
What happens at a typical gathering?
What if I have to miss a week?
When do groups meet, and what if my group fills?
What does it cost, and how do payments work?
What are the levels? What comes after Year One?
Not quite ready? Start with a taste of calm.
